Rear-Facing (Infants & Toddlers)

🔹 Key Tips

  • Keep child rear-facing as long as possible (until max height/weight limit)

  • Harness straps at or below shoulders

  • Chest clip at armpit level

  • Seat installed at correct recline angle

Forward-Facing (Toddlers & Preschoolers)

🔹 Key Tips

  • Use 5-point harness as long as possible

  • Always use the top tether

  • Harness straps at or above shoulders

  • Perform the pinch test (no slack)

Booster Seat (School-Age Children)

🔹 Key Tips

  • Use booster until seat belt fits properly (usually 4’9” height)

  • Lap belt: low across hips/thighs

  • Shoulder belt: across chest (not neck)

  • Child should sit upright at all times

🔹 Key Tips (5-Step Test)

Child is ready when they can:

  1. Sit all the way back against the seat

  2. Knees bend naturally at the edge

  3. Lap belt stays low on hips

  4. Shoulder belt crosses chest/shoulder

  5. Stay seated properly the entire ride
